Capable but doesn't make me smile

This system replaced a ten year old Sonos two speaker setup. It is no better sounding than the Sonos and in some respects somewhat inferior in that its sound profile cannot be tailored to the room which was a big plus. The KEF app needs a ‘Loudness’ setting to compensate for loss of bass at low volume levels. There is a plus however in that music management is more accessible and easier to perform from the app on the iPhone and the system will also respond to playing from my Roon core on the Mac. The supplied inter-speaker cable though is too short and the alternative (available at extra cost) is prohibitively expensive. Would not have purchased this system at full price.

Thank you very much for your review. We at KEF love music, which is our passion. Our mission is to create equipment that keeps the original sound as untouched as possible. All our acoustical inventions we have ever made follow the idea keeping the sound as it is.

We offer a room adjustment feature in the LS family speaker setup that allows for some modifications related to room conditions. Heavy curtains and furniture usually muffle the heights, while rooms with tiles on the floor and big windows increase the heights. Putting the speakers on a table may reduce the bass or influence the midds. Those effects can be compensated for in the KEF Connect app to some degree. KEF does not offer an equaliser or other drastic sound changing effect filters like a loudness setting as this would be against our philosophy, I hope this helps.
